45 days

As most of u guys have known the atolls in Maldives were asked to make there own websites. A few months ago there were a lot of bid invitations for parties interested in it. Large company’s and small groups started to submit there bids and started working on it. Some of them are finished by now. Here I am going to talk about a certain web site and a group. The atoll office got screwed and the web developer got all what they wanted.

Alright, let’s see what happened. At first Haa Alif Atoll invited interested parties to submit the bids. They got few interested parties and they decided to go with a party called Technical Assistances Group (AKA TAG). They signed the contract on 16th May 2006 where they promised to make the site up and running in 45 days time and for that they took more then 15% of the amount in advance of the total amount gets to make the site.

Today is 24th Sep 2006 more then 4 months passed. They are way past there deadline + the atoll office haven’t seen a single code of that site. Not even the damn home page. The guy in charge of the project is Mr. Visham from Technical Assistance Group (AKA TAG). This guy is too lame … toooooo lame.. doesn’t answer the phone when guys from atoll office calls, always give some crap saying he haven’t slept all night long because he was working on this Haa Alif Web site blah blah.. Actually that’s something the client doesn’t wanna hear. The client paid the guy and they want results. Not just lame excuses.. wakeup Mr. Visham u cant do business like this.

The latest news are. Starting of last week this Visham called the Atoll office guys and begged them. He promised to them that he will get it done by Friday, that’s 22nd Sep 2006. Get it done he meant by uploading the website http://www.halifatoll.gov.mv . And yesterday (Saturday) guys from atoll office called n asked him about the web site because there is no Website there accept the same old page with a little text saying “halifatoll.gov.mv”. can u guys guess what his answer was? He told them that he’s been uploading it from Friday night n still its uploading…. Now this is the part where I decided to check it out because I m pretty damn sure that it was also a lie.

I checked the site. Fired up Teleport pro and as u can see from the images iv posted there are nothing here accept a file called index.htm. Now which files were this guy uploading? He said he’s been uploading from Friday night. But where the hell are the files? ..  Ah yes!  I forgot to tell u a guy from this TAG said he think they need like 30 days to upload the site and to fine tune it.  HAHAHAH …. Cmon guys if you guys cant do that, then don’t keep on lying just tell them that you guys cant do it. Other then giving lame excuses like “im uploading the site still” “yes we are working on the site and I havent slept for 2 days” “You guys cant see the Website progress cause you cant make out anything out of it” << Some excuses he gives. LOL

So the bottom line here is TAG screwed around with Haa alif Atoll guys. And this haa alif atoll office guys just sat there doing nothing.. just letting TAG guys do what ever they want. BUT at the end they will say that “they were tricked and the party which promised them the Website couldn’t do it”.. IS THIS Technical Assistance Group or Mr. Visham who can develop websites?
